Legal Issues In California (and elsewhere)

• Current voting systems are not safe from fraud or manipulation.

• The DREs use a paper audit trail that are not suitable for the purpose for which it is intended, as documented by the California SoS.

• The DREs do not allow the blind to verify their vote.

• Some of the current systems use dangerous interpreted code. This is in violation of sections 4.4.1 and 6.4.1 of the Voluntary Voting Systems Guidelines
